But the point he's trying to make is something that we find backed up in a lot of our research and focus groups: that people who are playing the Wii bring it out when friends come over and then put it back away — that the console that stays connected to the TV is a different system.

You're damn right it's quotable. Probably grossly inaccurate, too, but then, that's not the point of these statements, is it?

Though we've known about Lego Rock Band -- more or less, that is -- since early this year, an Xbox.com listing for the game has revealed a few more tidbits to satiate our non-stop hunger for more info on the title. Both the Wii and PS3 were released in November 2006, so the most recent tie ratio figures show each system’s performance after 29 months at retail. In examining the Xbox 360’s tie ratio after the same 29-month period, psp games download, Microsoft’s box shows itself to have a significantly more impressive balance, at 7.5.

Interestingly, the console’s tie ratio rate has plateaued somewhat in the last eight months, as the figure in August 2008 was at 8.0 whereas today it has edged up to 8.3.

Sony Computer Entertainment America's senior VP of marketing, Peter Dille, has admitted that the PlayStation Portable has been hit hard by piracy - with as many as 50 million units in the marketplace potentially having been compromised.

"I'm convinced and we're convinced that piracy has taken out a big chunk of our software sales on PSP," Dille told Gamasutra. "It's been a problem that the industry has to address together; it's one that I think the industry takes very seriously, but we need to do something to address this because it's criminal what's going on,psp games, quite frankly.

"It's not good for us, but it's not good for the development community. We can look at data from BitTorrent sites from the day Resistance: Retribution goes on sale and see how many copies are being downloaded illegally, and it's frankly sickening. We are spending a lot of time talking about how we can deal with that problem."

EA says that an average of 2.2 million online games have been played each day since June, when the publisher first started releasing its 2009 EA Sports product line. This level of online play reflects an increase of more than 175 percent from the same period last year, the publisher said.

“The massive migration to online gaming has transformed the video game landscape, and this week's 500 millionth online EA Sports game highlights the radical shift that we've helped pioneer in the industry,” said Peter Moore, psp game, president of the division.

EA also provided a number of different angles to view its online volumes, stating that “4 billion minutes” of EA Sports games have been played since June, and that “35 years” of online play is amassed each day.

Both NFL 09 and FIFA 09 have over 2.4 million registered online users each, the company added.

The simple equation here being that hardware sales have just as much a significant effect on tie ratios as software does. Tie ratios are, after all, total software numbers divided by total hardware.

As the PS3 failed to get many new customers, its current users had many more games to purchase over the late months of 2008. The Wii, meanwhile, is selling incredibly well despite an inordinarily low turnout of significant titles.

Either way, the Xbox 360 looks best of the three when viewed from a tie-ratio angle.

"But, it actually is bad; it's bad for the platform. Again, I'm not saying that that's a magic wand; I think that we have to make sure from a technological perspective that it's not as easy as it is to do that."

The most recent tie ratios (number of different games per console) for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii were presented by news site Gamasutra. The figures reveal that the PS3 had recently amassed a 6.5 tie ratio in North America, whereas the Wii’s was at 6.2.

NPD Analyst Anita Frazier offers a reasonable explanation for the recent trends, stating that the Wii enjoyed a striking run of hardware sales during the second half of 2008, yet the PS3 has experienced five straight months of lower year-on-year hardware sales.

The latest financial presentation from European video game retailer Game comes complete with lifetime European sales numbers for the current crop of consoles and handhelds. Let's take a look!

The information is presented in the form of a hardware install base chart, with data provided by GfK Chart Track and Game's own internal data, free psp game, tallying the lifetime sales of each major console up to January of 2009. Taking a look at the UK numbers alone, we see that Nintendo has completely dominated the United Kingdom, with the Wii's 4.9 million topping the Xbox 360's 3.2 million and the PlayStation 3's 1.9 million. As if the Wii domination weren't enough, psp games, Nintendo's DS tops the entire list with lifetime sales of 8.8 million. What about the PlayStation 2, with 10 million units sold? It had a 4 and a half year head start, so we're disqualifying it.

So how does the rest of Europe and Australia stack up?

Well, technically we can't be sure. Game's numbers only include those European countries where Game stores are located, free psp games, so only France, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, the Czech Republic, and Australia are represented, leaving out notable countries such as Germany and Italy, who will probably launch their own sales numbers aggressively across Europe at a later date.

The limited picture we get of Europe and Australia pretty much follows the same trends as the UK numbers, with the exception of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with Sony's console showing a 300,000 console lead over the 360. Combining both totals together still has the PS3 a million behind, but it's catching up.

If you're a fan of Japanese RPG's, Kitase-san has most probably played a pivotal role in defining some of your favourite games. He may have even made you cry.

Following a brief sabbatical from the series, Kitase-san is back in the world of moogles, chocobos and impossibly melodramatic youths, having completed work on Dissidia: Final Fantasy and currently overseeing Final Fantasy XIII.

Capcom's Dante may never see the light of day on the PSP,psp games, but his literary namesake is set to make an appearance as EA has announced that Dante's Inferno is coming to Sony's handheld.

Coinciding with the release of the game on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 next year, the PSP iteration is being developed by EA Redwood Shores in collaboration with Artificial Mind and Movement (A2M).

Executive Producer Jonathan Knight was on-hand to celebrate the news, saying "Our team and the team at A2M are taking the vision for Dante's Inferno and translating it directly to the PSP. PSP owners can expect to get the same level of fast, responsive gameplay through all nine detailed and unique circles of hell we are aiming to achieve on the consoles."

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions are shaping up to be an interesting alternative to God of War – read more in our recent hands-on.

Kitase-san is in London next week to promote Dissidia, psp demos, and IGN is presenting you with an opportunity to field your questions to one of the key figures behind the Final Fantasy series. (PlayStation?Portable) system has achieved "gold" status. The highly-anticipated action game will be available at retailers beginning the week of April 28, 2009.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce delivers the newest and most revolutionary combat system to the franchise, with never-before-seen aerial fighting techniques, the ability to wield secondary weapons, and most of all the incredible "Fury" that transforms each fighter into a supernatural warrior.

Gamers can get a sneak peak at all of the furious action by downloading a free demo and trailer today, from PlayStation?Network.

Consumers who don't want to miss out on this year's hottest multi-player experience can pre-order the game today at: Amazon.com,free psp game, Game Crazy, GameFly, and GameStop.

About DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce

The multi-million selling Dynasty Warriors? series has long been renowned for pitting a lone warrior against an army of thousands. The highly-anticipated action game reinvents the Dynasty Warriors brand of action into this year's hottest multi-player experience on the PSP system.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce is a game unlike any other in the series. For the first time, up to four friends can join together to form a "Strikeforce." As a team, players will travel to different towns, embark on quests, and use coordinated assaults to conquer heavily-armed fortresses and colossal beasts.

End of level bosses await intrepid heroes with a multitude of guises and deadly attacks while enemies, spread throughout each stage, possess much greater levels of intelligence and more powerful attacks. So now more than ever it's imperative that players work together as a team and find ways to overcome the challenges and obstacles that stand between them and victory.

New "Fury" transformations give characters even greater supernatural abilities and attacks, including lightning fast speed and the ability to fly. Warriors can now take to the skies and face off against their foes in spectacular aerial combat.

Later this year, KOEI will offer new content for DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce. Additional quests will be available free-of-charge,free psp games, exclusively through PlayStation?Store.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: Strikeforce is developed by Omega Force and is for 1 to 4 players. Multi-player play is via ad-hoc mode only. This game is rated "T" (Teen- Violence) by the ESRB. For more information, visit www.koei.com/strikeforce.

Over on the official PlayStation Blog, Director of PlayStation Network Operations Eric Lempel made a post today announcing a new firmware update for the PSP. Version 5.50 will be available soon and will introduce a few new features to Sony's portable.

The first addition is an information board which will be displayed on the XMB. This will be similar to the PS3 scrolling ticker that provides users with updates and news relating to the Sonyverse. Of course, you'll need to be at a wireless hotspot in order to access the streaming information.

The other features are somewhat less dramatic. Lempel notes that there are memory stick improvements which allow sub-folder creation on your PRO Duo. You will also be able to run internet searches based on the title of a game directly from the XMB. Just hover over the game's icon, hit Triangle and search away.

Lastly, PSP users will have free trial access to some Trend Micro services, which includes web security technology.
